The Engawa is the strip of wooden floor that runs along the edge of a traditional Japanese house, sheltered by the eaves and open to the garden. This one smells like an evening spent out there. Tobacco leaf and warm wood burn low and slow, with a curl of smoke and a little natural sweetness. It's made for the front hall, the den, or anywhere friends tend to linger longer than planned.
